Routine maintenance will prolong the life of laundry equipment, maintain energy efficiency, limit excessive water usage and prevent losses in income due to equipment breakdowns. A laundromat operator can perform small routine maintenance himself and hire a mechanic to perform periodic inspections and tuneups. 1.Create a list of equipment and identify the maintenance requirements of each. Take into account varying ages of equipment, which may have been purchased at different times. Hire a laundry equipment maintenance technician to visit your store to inspect your equipment after it is first installed. Ask the mechanic what you can do regularly to maintain the brands of washers and dryers you use and write down his responses. Routine maintenance includes cleaning escaped lint from around the burner boxes, changing hoses and keeping bolts tightened.
2.Make a calendar for regular maintenance according to priority level. Schedule escaped lint removal on a monthly basis. Set a reminder to change inlet hoses on washers on a yearly basis. Check the tightness of bolts on a quarterly basis to ensure that the machines do not move off of their pads. Schedule appointments for quarterly or yearly inspections by the mechanic as recommended. Include possible equipment replacements on your calendar in anticipation of retirements of older equipment.
3.Remove coins from the machine's coin bank every night or at several points during the day. Consider removing coins after each large wave of customers during peak hours.
4.Use dry cleaning machines  to wash washing machines clean of laundry residue once a month. A washer cleaner can also improve the inner appearance of the washer basket.
